Well, it's been a long time, huh? Again. Yeah, despite saying something about being back, I only uploaded 3 videos after the hiatus. Huh... Well, there was a reason for that. After I had uploaded that Fan-made logo combo created in Canva in October of this year... I had something on the levels of ambition... and it was inspired by @bratsarika
I sometimes get giddy when an American movie studio branches out into other parts of the world, such as Japan, Germany, United Kingdom and France to name a few. Universal working on a Japanese film with Shochiku, Columbia attached to a German film, Paramount with France. But one such interest I had for international co-productions was the Russian film industry... mainly for their logos and what kinds of crazy logo combos they could give us.
Now the four studios that did throw their hats in the Russian film industry ring, Columbia, Fox, Universal and Disney, did a decent amount of collaborations with various studios there, resulting in some wacky combos there. Strangely enough, Paramount and Warner Bros. are two of the exceptions... eh, sort of. Warner still did TV distribution in Russia, via their International Television label, but actual original Russian films... nada. Warner nor Paramount have film offices there. Instead, their movies are distributed by Russian film studios. Central Partnership distributed Paramount's movies since 2009, while Warner's films had Karro as their distributor.
I'm going somewhere with all this, I swear, but when I questioned/wondered about why Warner never did original Russian films on one of bratsarika's videos, then got the reply of them not having any offices there... I think it got my brain going. One of my favorite Russian studios that I follow is Central Partnership. I don't watch any of the films they're involved in but I do like their logo... particularly the 2000's and 2010's era logos. And I wondered what a possible movie collaboration between Warner and CentPart (as bratsarika would call it) would look like. And this is where this little flipnote came in... in which my mind gave me a rather outside-the-box idea.
Since Warner did not have any film offices in Russia, I did envision the idea being an international co-production between Russia and Warner's Japan branch! Yes, Warner has had an established Japanese arm since the 2000's. Perfect, I thought to myself. Now WB and CentPart were an idea on its own, but I apparently added in Japanese film studio Nikkatsu and Russian film financer Kinoprime for the ride as well. Thought it would help bolster the collaboration idea in my head.
So what you are seeing here is a Flipnote of that idea. Basically, it's an animated blue print for what will eventually become of the thing that I have on the back burner. I drew the logos as scratchy sketches that had four frames of animation that looped seven times. For the styles of logos, I definitely harkened back to older styles of logos, especially for CentPart and Nikkatsu. Obviously, the CP logo is based on the 2000's iteration of the logo, and I did my best to recreate the stylized "CP" at the bottom. Nikkatsu was based on a vintage logo, with the weird chunky "N" with a "K" etched inside it. For the text, since I couldn't write kanji properly, I settled for writing the name in kana, as was seen in the 80's logo. Weird mismatch, I know. Kinoprime, despite rocking an absolute killer design of simplicity, was kinda tough for me to draw out. Getting each of the 7 lines from the stem of the "K" was an exercise in difficulty, as well as the 9 lines protruding out from the 7th line. Granted, the style of logo I was aiming for, I really wasn't looking for perfection. Warner was basically simple enough. I've drawn the logo multiple times since my childhood so I know what the shield looks like. My mindset was basically if this movie released in 2019 or 2020, hence the "Warnermedia" byline I used.
I think it turned out well enough in the end. I started this in September and finished before October of 2025. Think I am quite proud of it. Here's hoping it tides you all over until I film the actual version of this combo. It will be a fun one. Happy New Year.
